Team members: Yui Harayama Anjali Devadasan Sheung Sheung Chen Summary of design idea: The Reusable Bin Bag is an environmentally sustainable solution that tackles poor waste management in Cape York. According to Andre Grant from the Centre of Appropriate Technology, infrastructure in Cape York has to be self-sustainable and characterised by a low ecological footprint. The waste that is generated within Cape York must be managed and dealt with within the peninsula. Thus, our solution is created to reduce the amount of plastic in Cape York and the ecological footprint of the island, prevent plastic overflow and implement a stable waste management service that may promote public health.
