The Built Environment in Cape York is characterized by a lack of structurally sound buildings in the homelands which lead to severe overcrowding and social issues. The challenges with introducing new structures are the lack of infrastructure and the remoteness of the communities. To tackle this issue this report evaluates the potential of Prefabrication, Rammed Earth Construction and Container Buildings. Since Rammed Earth is the simplest, most eco-friendly and cheapest method, this design was further developed. 🏠 The Rammed Earth buildings are designed to be constructed with a reusable and prefabricated KIT which can be transported easily. By including the communities in the design and building process, the acceptance is ensured. Furthermore, the little maintenance required for rammed earth can be carried out by the communities themselves.🔨 The project will be funded by the Australian Government with help from Foundations such as Mission Australia or Habitat for Humanity. Maintenance cost will be very low and can be covered by the Communities.🌐 Please feel free to read our material and any further comments and questions are welcomed!😁 #BuiltEnvironment #PuttingTheCommunityFirst #PositiveChanges
